Verified locations, walk-in hours and phone numbers. Please call before you travel.

Before you go

Each location below comes from the provider's own website, and we checked each one on Nov 5, 2026. Clinic hours and funding change, and in 2025 local reporting said some clinics had scaled back because of uncertainty over federal funding. Please call ahead, especially if you are traveling a long way. This page is general information and not medical advice, so talk to a clinician about your own situation.

Public health options

Harris County Public Health also runs an HIV and STI prevention program. You can search for other nearby sites using the CDC's locator at gettested.cdc.gov.

What is PrEP, and how do I start?

PrEP is medicine that lowers your risk of getting HIV. It needs a prescription and regular follow-up tests, so the first step is an appointment. You can book at Legacy on 713-814-3300, at Avenue 360 on 713-426-0027, or at Allies in Hope's Midtown clinic on 713-623-6796. Ask about costs when you book, since each provider handles insurance and help with payment in its own way. If you test positive for HIV, these same clinics can connect you with treatment, and you do not have to work it out alone. The Montrose Center offers counseling, and our Health + Help Resources page lists more support.
